Katano Shrine Autumn Festival 2026
October 14 (Wed) — Yoimiya (Festival Eve)
October 15 (Thu) — Hongu (Main Festival Day)
Katano Shrine will hold its annual Autumn Festival on October 14 and 15.
On October 15, the main annual ceremony (Reitaisai) will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the traditional Yutate hot-water purification ritual.
Throughout the two days, the shrine grounds will also come alive with food and festival stalls, an outdoor tea gathering, and a variety of performances offered before the kami.

October 14 (Wed) — Yoimiya
Outdoor Tea Gathering
10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
Venue: Saka Kaikan Hall
Ticket: ¥500 (available on the day)
Festival Stalls
Around 10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.
Hula Dance Offering
From 6:00 p.m.
A hula dance will be offered by the Piilanis.
Taiko Drum Offering
From 6:30 p.m.
Children’s taiko groups and a professional taiko team will perform as an offering before the kami.
After the performance, there will be a hands-on taiko experience, open to anyone who would like to try playing a Japanese drum.
October 15 (Thu) — Hongu
Reitaisai & Yutate Ritual
From 10:00 a.m.
The shrine’s annual grand ceremony (Reitaisai) will be followed by the traditional Yutate hot-water purification ritual.
Outdoor Tea Gathering
1:00–5:00 p.m.

Festival Stalls
Around 10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.
Children’s Bingo
From 6:00 p.m.
Prizes will be available for the first 100 participants.
Evening Kagura
From 7:00 p.m.
Yoshida-ryu Kagura — Kasai Shachu
Kagura will be offered before the kami in prayer for the peace and well-being of our local community.
This form of kagura has been passed down in this area since ancient times, and the Autumn Festival offers a rare opportunity to experience it at close range.
We invite you to spend an autumn evening at the shrine and experience this living tradition for yourself.
